SensiGuard Review: Encrypt Your Files and Folders

We all have confidential files on our computers – bank and credit card statements, tax returns, and other documents that have our name, address, social security number, and so on. In addition to that, we all have hundreds of passwords for different sites, including online banking passwords. Most users don’t protect their sensitive information in any way because they never think they can become yet another victim of online fraud or identity theft. They rely on their anti-virus to do the job and don’t put an extra layer of protection to keep their private information safe. SensiGuard is a program that helps you protect your private data using advanced encryption.

Overview

SensiGuard is a program that offers the user to encrypt files and folders, so that they can’t be accessed by an unauthorized person. It lets you lock your sensitive information in such a way that anyone wanting to access it will need a password, which only you will have. SensiGuard uses 256-bit AES encryption standard, which is quite advanced and secure. In addition to its encryption functionality, SensiGuard can shred files and folders beyond recovery. This makes the program a good choice for those who are concerned about the security of their data.

Features

SensiGuard

SensiGuard

The set of features that SensiGuard has is pretty standard for similar software. Here is what it has to offer:

  • 256-bit AES encryption
  • instant file and folder locking
  • an option to password-protect USB devices
  • automatic file compression for encrypted files
  • file shredding

As you can see, the list of features is pretty basic. SensiGuard uses only one type of encryption and doesn’t allow you to turn a USB flash drive into a USB key. However, SensiGuard does its job pretty well. It’s not as advanced as enterprise-level encryption software, but it has everything a home user might need.

What we liked about the software is its ability to create a USB vault where you can easily add files and they will be encrypted automatically.

A great advantage of SensiGuard over its competitors is the fact that the program has a built-in file shredder. This means that you’ll never have to look for a separate program to shred your confidential files. This all-in-one approach makes a lot of sense.

Ease of use

SensiGuard is very easy to use. All you need to do is select the files you want encrypted and simply run the tool. The program will do the rest. It’s quite handy that you can use SensiGuard via the context menu, as it can save you quite a bit of time.

SensiGuard has a very intuitive interface. It’s clean and modern, and everything is explained by the software as you use it.

Effectiveness

We found SensiGuard as effective as it claimed to be. Our folders were encrypted really quickly and we had no trouble accessing them using a password we set.  All in all, it’s a good program to stop intruders and viruses attempting to steal your personal information.
